Your ticket to more 2,000 federal recreation sites! America the Beautiful - National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Passes give U.S. citizens and visitors an affordable and convenient way to access federal recreational lands. Most America the Beautiful Passes can be purchased as a plastic card, as a digital pass for use in your digital wallet, or both.

Types of Passes

Passes can be purchased online or in person at a federal recreation facility. By purchasing passes at your local site, you ensure that the funds from your purchase support projects at that site.

A pass covers entrance and certain day use and amenity fees for the pass owner and all occupants in a personal vehicle at sites that charge per vehicle or, the pass owner and up to three additional adults (16 and over) at sites that charge per person. Children ages 15 or under are admitted free. Each pass covers entrance fees at national parks and national wildlife refuges as well as some other fees at national forests and grasslands and at lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Resident Annual Pass
Available for U.S. citizens and residents.
Free
U.S. Military Annual Pass
Available for current U.S. military members and dependents in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Space Force and Coast Guard, as well as reservists and National Guard members. Must show Common Access Card or Military ID.

Annual Senior Pass
Available for U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over. Applicants must provide documentation of age and residency or citizenship.

Lifetime Senior Pass
Available for U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over. Applicants must provide documentation of age and residency or citizenship. There is an additional cost of $10 for passes purchased online or by mail.

Access Pass
Available for U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States who have been medically determined to have a permanent disability. (This need not be a 100% disability.)

Non-Resident Annual Pass
Available for anyone, though it is intended for non-U.S. residents.

Every Kid Outdoors Pass
Available to fourth grade students and valid for the duration of the 4th-grade school year through the following summer (September-August). Must be purchased on-site.

Volunteer Pass
Available to volunteers and valid for 12 months from the month of issuance. Must be purchased on-site.
