At Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge

Visitors can enjoy an 8-mile auto tour that leads them around and through wetland areas, lakes and sinkholes that creates the unique refuge that is designated as Globally Important Bird Area by the American Bird Conservancy. Stop along the way to enjoy the sights and sounds of the refuge while taking hikes along the way, immersing you into the oasis of water inside the Chihuahuan Desert.
