About
Established in 1992, the Green Bay Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office serves as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s hub for fisheries and aquatic resource conservation in the Lake Michigan basin. The office utilizes a science-based approach to manage native, threatened, and endangered species while fulfilling tribal trust responsibilities. Key historical milestones include the 2010 establishment of the Great Lakes Tag and Recovery Program and the 2018 completion of the large research vessel, the R/V Smith.
