About
The Maryland Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office was established in 1985 to help restore Atlantic Coast migratory fish species like Striped Bass, which had suffered from heavy fishing pressure and habitat degradation. Our mission involves coordinating tagging programs for species including Atlantic Sturgeon, American Shad, and American Eel to assess stock sizes and causes of population decline. We are co-located with the Ecological Services-Chesapeake Bay Field Office in Annapolis, Maryland.
