Auto tour

At Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge

Auto tour routes offer a great all-season way to see wildlife and habitats from the comfort of your car. By using your car as a viewing blind, you can often see more wildlife than you can see on foot.

Visit the Grassy Island Auto Tour just one mile north of the Refuge Visitor Center to drive along the edge of the bottomland hardwood forest to view a variety of flora and fauna.  White-tailed deer, wild turkey, raccoons, snakes, herons, egrets and bald eagles can be viewed along the road and from the Viewing Tower at the end of the 3 mile long route.
