About
The Lamar Fish Health Center is part of the National Fish Hatchery System, a network dedicated to protecting fisheries and restoring declining aquatic species. It provides inspection testing, diagnostic assistance, and implements the National Wild Fish Health Survey to monitor fish pathogens. Originally authorized as a fish culture station in 1930, it was renamed the Northeast Fishery Center in 1984 to include fish health expertise.
