About
Established in 1938, Tybee National Wildlife Refuge serves as a breeding area for migratory birds and other wildlife. The 100-acre refuge is primarily composed of sand deposits from dredging activities and provides critical habitat for nesting shorebirds. It is managed as part of the Savannah Coastal Refuges Complex, protecting diverse coastal habitats including saltwater marshes and woody upland species.
