RIVER HUNTING (Sacramento River NWR)
HUNTING (Sacramento, Delevan, Colusa and Sutter NWRs)
OVERVIEW: The Sacramento River National Wildlife Refuge has over 5,350 acres open to fishing, migratory game bird, upland game, and big game hunting in accordance with State regulations. A few units permit hunters to walk in to hunt from parking areas; most units are accessed via boat. Turkey and black-tailed deer hunting are most popular, but the refuge also is open for waterfowl, quail, pheasant, dove, snipe, coot, moorhen and wild pig. Many units are prone to flooding, which provides great waterfowl hunting opportunities.
The refuge is a Type-C hunt area with no recreation fees, hunter check stations or hunter quotas.
